Just started here and wanted to check in about draand28's post from March 30, 2019. I'm facing the same problem. The Intel tool worked fine—Teamed NIC setup is correct, and the teamed NIC status now reads 2 Gbps, even when I disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable. But file transfers still don’t show any improvement. Many users manage to team their NICs successfully, but no one has tested whether it actually doubles the speed beyond what the connection offers. Some forums mention Win10’s SMB multichanneling capping single-file transfers at 1 Gbps.

March 2020 was successful for me. New-NetSwitchTeam created with name "NetworkTeam01". Members included LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, and LAN4.

I set up this environment using Windows 10 Home version 1909 with an Intel X550-T2 dual 10GbE NIC connected via two short Cat6A cables to an NTGR XS716E 10GbE switch that has static lag enabled. The switch also links to a NTGR RN528X NAS with dual 10GbE ports and a similar setting, plus a NTGR RN214 NAS with dual 1GbE ports, both on the same switch. I used PowerShell to switch the X550-T2 into teaming mode because Windows Home doesn’t support it natively. The NAS devices were configured with Round Robin teaming, channel bonding activated, and static IPs assigned. Everything appears functional—Windows reports a 20 Gbps NIC interface, and both NAS machines confirm their Ethernet ports are bonded. Yet, file transfers remain significantly slower compared to using just one NIC. Moving files between PC and the RN528 gives over 1 GB/s without teaming or lag, but only about 600 MB/s with static lag. With the RN214, speeds stay at roughly 1 Gbps regardless of configuration. So far, teaming hasn’t delivered any noticeable improvement; it seems to be a waste of time after many attempts. Disappointing.
