This marks my last FreeNAS and Nextcloud article. I've successfully linked NextCloud with FreeNAS but only access the /iocage/jails/NextCloud/root/media path. My user folders hold all my files, but I need a different location than /media/. Is there a method to create a folder inside /media/? Whenever I try to make a folder there, Windows denies access. Can I use nano in the shell to set up a directory like /mnt/ActualNAS/banana? That would be ideal. If you have more details, feel free to share. FreeNAS version: 11.3-U3.1 Nextcloud version: v21

Your aim is usually within Nextcloud itself. If you wish to include files, using Nextcloud as the tool makes sense.

I need to access current files and folders on the NAS. The screenshot helps with reading and writing, but not for mounting data.

Copy the information to the Nextcloud dashboard or set up Nextcloud using WebDAV from the regular share. If the files are stored in local network folders, simply use SMB—it integrates smoothly and performs better on Windows.

I'll create a shortcut pointing to the Nextcloud home directory.
