Hello!
My old PC needs a refresh, but I don't want to spend on new parts. I'm thinking about overclocking. How much can I push my Celeron D 331 single core to 2.66 GHz without increasing the voltage? I have a stock cooler and usually the processor runs between 61-64°C, which seems fine for this chipset. Prescott is 90nm. Could Core 2 Duo E6600 or E6700 work with the Celeron D cooler?

If you purchase a core 2 duo it should include a stock cooler, unless you're acquiring it used—which is likely. For the core 2 duos, you'll also need a different motherboard. Based on your present temperatures, you might consider upgrading to 3.0Ghz, though that would be risky given your current readings.
