Hello Overclocking Kings and Queens (Gender Equality)
I own an i5 2500k with an Intel DH61WW motherboard. I attempted to adjust the BIOS settings to reach around 4.2 to 4.5ghz, but there are no available options beyond the stock speed. The Intel boost clock is unclear to me. After checking online, I saw mixed opinions—some people succeeded while others claimed it wasn’t possible. A forum post mentioned that only "H" boards with onboard graphics can be overclocked, and for the 1155 socket, you’d need a "P" or "Z" board.
I’m considering purchasing a Z77 board, which could cost between £40-60, and I’d really appreciate any advice or confirmation before I start disassembling my PC.

Yes, you cannot use the H61 motherboard for OC, you need to purchase the P67, Z68, and Z77 models for that purpose.
