So my family began using New World and just a few moments ago my dad's machine completely failed. He was sitting in a place that was mostly idle. No options, no battles, no crafting—just nothing. His screens flickered and then went dark. The computer won’t power on at all. It seems like a sudden surge of electricity damaged it permanently. He checked the troubleshooting guides and kept his settings low, around 75 FPS. This was the model he purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FPX...UTF8&psc=1. It’s a prebuilt unit and the power supply isn’t even mentioned. I’m feeling sorry but he asked me to let him build it on for him, and he said no. At first I was upset about them buying and playing in front of me since I waited until my paycheck came. But it seems like they just switched to something else for me instead. My mom has the same setup—two systems bought a couple weeks apart. They were using them together. She hasn’t had any issues so far, even though she spent about $1100 on them (that was the original price). It’s gone up around $500 since then. That’s a lot of change. It’s really frustrating, especially considering her screen addiction. Anyway, I was really excited but it doesn’t seem worth the risk. I just got my 3k and won’t trade it for anything. Honestly, I’m disappointed. It looked fine. Edit: the monitors went blank, the computer was still on but he decided to keep the power button pressed down to shut it off completely. Now it won’t turn on at all. So New World might have fried his graphics card, and then he just gave up the rest of the system in response. Wow, what a shock...

They were permitted to engage with New World because it was designed to be accessible and engaging for players.

It's hard to understand why someone would enjoy a game famous for damaging hardware.

It seems like you're saying it looks good, but overall it's a strong argument.

It's similar to purchasing a vehicle that appears appealing yet carries a significant risk of failure when exceeding 60mph. You wouldn't operate it at 50 mph in the hope that the designers understood their limitations.

Perhaps we thought it impacted just one GPU because of a production flaw.

In all cases, it's clear they provide misleading data.

It seems the issue likely stems from a production flaw, as a game shouldn't force a GPU to fail, particularly when it's not overclocked. Additionally, many GPUs come with default fan settings that allow the chip to operate at high temperatures.

Just as well, I don't need to get into a new MMO lol. It really sucks though.
