They sent out an update in February but didn't force you to install it. It stayed at the top of your screen until last week when you figured out it wasn't installed yet. MY PC has already had its Windows updates, except for one strange thing: after I ran that update and restarted my computer, it asked me to run the update again right before turning off. I just turned it off, so far so good - nothing else seems wrong.

I have an old SSD named WD SN550 and some hard drives too. File copying on my system is really slow. That makes me think it is the Windows 11 problem instead of a hardware fault.

Using this, testing it, fixing it, but I still can't get rid of this problem without success.

After all that time, trying to update windows 11 to the latest version, fixing problems with troubleshooting, making clean installs, searching everywhere online for a fix, and just being desperate, I found one suggestion: deleting the usn journal might help with SSD or NVMe performance issues. I felt really stuck, so I tried it anyway. Here is how you do it using fsutil usn Reference article for the fsutil usn command, which manages the update sequence number (USN) change journal. learn.microsoft.com using the command ( fsutil usn deletejournal /d c: ) described in the above page, I deleted the journal. Nothing showed up on screen right away, so I ran some tests and found that file copy speed actually got worse than before. After a few days, I needed to copy files again, but my surprise was that the copy speed went back to normal and the problem was fixed. I kept running tests until today (copied over 80 GB) and the speed stayed great. I'm not an IT specialist, but after reading some extra stuff, I learned that deleting the usn journal takes a long time and keeps going through several reboots in some cases. So, if anyone still has this problem, maybe it's the solution again, I am NOT an IT specialist, I just posted what I tried to solve the issue, please search and ask some experts before resorting to this method.
