After turning on the PC, launching several applications, and shutting it down for the night, it would restart instantly. The motherboard lights would turn off and then it would boot again right away. I've checked forums and adjusted power and BIOS settings without success. Removing peripherals or disabling Ethernet didn't help either. Since I haven't changed anything other than installing a new OS, I'm really puzzled about what setting might be causing this issue. Thanks for your help!

It seems like you're trying to figure out why your machine won't shut down. This could be related to a case switch issue, but there might be other possibilities. What specific case are you experiencing?

It wasn't even opened, but it's a Lian-li Dynamic 011. Probably an uncommon Windows issue since I've noticed it on forums—fixes seem to involve just changing power settings. Wish I had more luck!

Even cases that aren't particularly inexpensive or outdated make the chance almost nonexistent, aside from the other reports.

Just to show I'm not losing my mind, I cut the header and fried the pins. Nothing mechanical here.
