My computer was acting sluggish, so I suspected Windows was the issue. I performed a recovery and did a clean install. Now it feels noticeably faster—about 6 to 7 degrees cooler, possibly even more. How significant is this performance improvement?

Too many background applications running might have made your computer work harder than necessary while gaming. Do you apply a frame rate limiter during gameplay?

It seems the operating system wasn't the main issue, but the OEM's software might have been. On my HP Pavilion Gaming 15, disabling Coolsense lowered both temperature and noise levels.

Perhaps it's due to fewer programs operating in the background.

Lmao, Coolsense is meant for lowering your laptop's temperature, not causing it to overheat.

I previously monitored my running processes and noticed there were fewer active ones then.

It doesn't function properly at all, honestly. She had a Pavilion 15 without a gaming setup and noticed the same thing. Quieter operation and lower temperatures inside. Yes, the exterior gets warmer, but the internal components run cooler.

It's the same OEM setup, which is why I'm curious about its performance.

It seems odd... Could be a software glitch.

Still no idea, but I deleted all the HP stuff already. It works much better now, hehe.
