I just assembled a new computer and when I opened the BIOS, I attempted to install Windows via USB using the installation tool. My screen remained frozen with just the Windows logo and no progress indicator, and nothing happened. My system specs include an AMD 5600X, ASRock B550M Pro4, Zotac 3070 TwinEdge, and a Master MWE Gold 650W full modular 80+ Gold cooler. I've verified all connections and even reset the RAM and reinstalled the CPU, but I'm still confused since I can access the BIOS but can't install Windows.

Try Linux if it doesn't work.

It might be related to the hardware, but check if the issue persists across different systems.

Alright, let's review the setup steps. As a new build, verify these settings in UEFI:

- Disable RAM XMP profile
- Ensure UEFI is enabled
- Enable Fast Boot
- Activate Secure Boot
- Turn off any overclocks besides the RAM XMP setting
- Set default mode to "Auto" or its standard value

For SATA drives, confirm the controller uses AHCI.

Before powering on, double-check these components:
- CPU power
- GPU power
- Motherboard power connector (inspect both sides)
- Graphics card connected to the top PCI 16x slot
- Remove PCIe extensions if using them
- Ensure a properly inserted PCIe M.2 drive
- For SATA drives, verify the cable connects to both drive and motherboard (SATA port 0 or 1)

When booting from a USB flash drive, select "UEFI: <USB name>" not "<USB name>".

If issues persist, test the USB drive on another system to confirm it's functional. If still problematic, rework the drive or try a different one.

With XMP activated the system fails to power on through BIOS, and the motherboard’s debug lights illuminate indicating CPU and memory issues.

Make sure you have the most recent BIOS installed. This issue is likely resolved by updating. The board's BIOS may not be compatible with your CPU or the latest RAM.
