The K A 386 won't function properly. You require a processor with Pentium capability. Therefore, a Pentium I should suffice.

You need to complete the soldering of the caps again on your Socket 7 motherboard. It seems you're wondering if MMX is necessary for this task.

It doesn't seem to need MMX. GRUB might require it, and I notice an SSE2 directory inside GRUB.

I’m ready to try it either way. I have a lot to evaluate with the listed processors ranging from 386 DX40 to the latest K6-2.

For the LFS project, a helpful suggestion is to avoid AMD and it will prevent many issues...

It looks like you're checking if your current project follows a similar pattern to other OSes you've seen online, such as booting into GRUB and displaying basic text. The kernel for DixiumOS is quite minimal, consisting mainly of code that writes simple messages to the screen. This suggests it's more of a custom or lightweight system rather than a full-featured operating system.

Grub appears to work with any i386 platform, which could explain its compatibility. This behavior is similar to setting up Linux on a Pentium MMX, as noted in the referenced article.

Certainly packages lack compatibility with AMD and fail to build.
