What games are you running and what speed are you seeing? You’ll need to run some tests to identify which part of your setup isn’t delivering the performance you expect. Riva tuner helps you view GPU and CPU usage per core while playing, without needing another screen. Task manager can also do this when needed. This process aims to pinpoint what’s slowing you down.
Update your GPU drivers, ensure your RAM operates at 2933MHZ with dual-channel, and reduce game settings. You're not seeing 280 FPS, so it's likely only for light games like CSGO, Valorant, MC, etc.
I managed to hit around 120-140 fps. I reduced all game settings to boost performance based on video research. I’m considering an upgrade, but just wanted another perspective first.
Well the main component that would give you an fps boost (the GPU, aka Graphics Card) are not possible to find. There is a global graphics card shortage atm
Do you understand which component reaches full utilization? If your GPU is operating at 100% usage, it might be time for a GPU upgrade. Should your CPU be running at maximum capacity, then a CPU upgrade would be necessary. For a GPU upgrade, consider the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RX 6700 XT or RX 6800. You could opt for higher models, but I’m unsure if that would be noticeable. The issue is that GPUs are often overpriced. I’m not sure how confident you feel about spending more. For a CPU upgrade, options are limited unless you’re using the same motherboard. You might choose a 10700K, 10900 or a 10900K.
