I recently received a used gaming PC from my uncle. It comes with an ASUS B85M-E motherboard, a Gigabyte Gv-N166SOC-6GD GTX 1660 Super, and a 750W power supply. Everything is connected and it powers on properly, but I’m not seeing any display to access the BIOS. I’ve used a DP to VGA adapter, tried HDMI, and checked all GPU and motherboard ports. I’m aiming to keep costs low, so any advice would be really helpful.

Which processor is inside there? Have all these components been confirmed functional upon receipt?

Verify the PSU cables are properly connected at both ends. Consider taking out the CMOS battery from the board and reinserting it to clear any existing BIOS settings.

This setup seems uncertain. The daisy-chained cables are likely PCIe, and connecting a PCIe cable to the CPU 8 pin could cause damage. However, a 4-pin connection appears possible, which might be safe. If it really is an 8-pin EPS daisy chain, I'd be surprised. Next, test each RAM stick individually in its slot to check for any that are not working.

The PSU cables appear fine since they weren’t working before; it’s now powering on and operating. I’ll definitely test the battery next.

This cable is a split 8-pin connector with an additional pin lower down. The four-pin section needed to be connected first; unfortunately, the only cable I had with the correct input was this one. I’ll search for another to try and get the RAM working again.

It seems everything is functioning properly and it should be an i7 processor with the 8th generation CPU.

Located a more compact cable and replaced it; functionality remains but no display appears.

It was the RAM; there was one card that was slightly misaligned, thank you.
