I own an older gaming machine and a newer one with upgraded specs. On my old system, I ran Windows on a compact SSD and games on a larger HDD. After transferring the HDD to the new PC, I moved some game files to the bigger SSD drive. The HDD stayed in place for a few months. I’ve played games from the large SSD and received updates. So far, the new PC hasn’t used the HDD beyond copying files. Recently, I transferred the HDD back to the old machine to clear everything out. When I restarted, the screen went black and displayed "A2" in the lower-right corner, indicating a storage issue. After unplugging the HDD, the old PC booted normally into Windows. Once I reinserted it, the A2 error returned. The HDD seems to be blocking any updates or postings on the old PC. What could be happening? Please advise—I’m trying to erase everything safely.

Press F11 at startup, then select the boot device menu. Pick your SSD, and it should start up. If that succeeds, reboot into BIOS and adjust the boot order so your SSD is first.
