Hi everyone! I purchased a 240GB Crucial BX200 SSD for £40 (with a discount). It arrived today, and my initial idea was to install it on my PC for faster performance. But since my Windows license came from the Windows 10 insider program and I hadn’t bought Windows before, I wasn’t sure about compatibility. The Microsoft site mentioned the drive would expire in October, but now I have full Windows 10 installed for free. My concern is whether adding this SSD to my current drive would cause me to lose the operating system. Thanks in advance! P.S. I’m planning a new laptop soon and thought I’d use this SSD then, but I’m considering it now.

Reinstall it now, as long as the motherboard remains the same, it should kick in. A fresh setup on a new drive is usually the safest choice.
