New SSD, compatible with Windows.
I got a new SSD on it's way very soon, and I was wondering what Windows I should install, 8.1 or 10. The only reason I am really contemplating this is because I got Windows 8 (before Windows 8.1 had come out) and don't want it to be a pain to reinstall Windows 8, then have to deal with the Windows Store and wait half an hour to get 8.1. Unless anyone knows a way to download 8.1 and then put it my 8 key later. That would be great. Just to clarify, it's an OEM key.
Download issue at version 8.1 on Windows 10. Logs are available for development. Running Start or ClassicStart works best. Consider using Ninite for installing apps.
Windows 10 is reliable, and they seem to ignore the logged keystrokes... honestly, that’s concerning.
This might help. The article suggests Microsoft made adjustments, possibly after previous announcements. It seems relevant for your Windows 8.1 setup with an SSD.
