New setup version.
Hey there, I just got a new SSD and the Enthoo Luxe. For my next break, I’m transferring everything to the case and launching Windows 8.1 on my 500 GB SSD. I recall Windows 7 had so many issues back then. Anyone who uses Windows 8.1 for browsing the web, office work, or gaming should know it comes with a lot of unnecessary stuff that’s easy to remove. I’m just trying to clear my mind. I really dislike all the bloat from Windows 7. Also, can I format my old HDD using the same Windows 8.1 installation media? It will be linked to one computer only. I haven’t found a clear answer yet. Thanks for your help!
What kinda crap are you talking about? I don't think there is any crap installed using a OEM ISO. Also make sure you follow this guide.
It seems there shouldn’t be any trial versions or similar options. Did you accidentally install it from a prebuilt? That’s why trials exist. If it’s directly from Microsoft, you’ll only receive the operating system.
Absolutely, thank you for the kind words. I'll take the time to look it up and make sure I'm prepared. Appreciate the guidance!
It was nice knowing I could assist! The first time I tried installing Windows 8 wrongly, I didn’t realize there were other options. After setting it up correctly on another machine (including an SSD), the boot times became extremely quick. I configured it for Ultra Fastboot on a gigabyte board and was on the desktop in just about three seconds after turning it on.
Right now I only have a gtx750 and my motherboard is the msi ms7599. I’m not sure if I can do it. Once I get my new system, I’ll be able to reformat my SSD using UEFI. I don’t have any crucial files to worry about, so a basic reformat should work if UEFI is available. I hope it will!
