Assembled a fresh PC, my first one in years. 3090 and 12900k. Sounds fine overall, but during gaming the fans increase and create a rippling noise. It keeps happening even after I finish the game and is only visible in Windows IMG_0748.MOV.

The complete specifications are essential since just a GPU and CPU aren’t sufficient for a functional setup.

It seems there might be some confusion. Could you clarify what you're referring to? Are you asking about unusual fan sounds or something else? Let me know so I can assist better.

I’m still catching up on the latest models. My most recent was when the 760gtx was released. I don’t want to risk damaging anything, so it seems like just the fans making noise. I also notice some whine coming from my block during games—probably normal for an aio setup.

Relies on your fan configuration. When the curve is adjusted properly, fans respond smoothly without sudden jumps. I maintain a balance around 50-55°C with full acceleration at higher temps, though this varies by hardware and setup. Avoid GPU fans turning—they often run continuously in overclock mode. Disabling individual PWM-controlled units can help identify the source of instability. Not every fan behaves the same.

Your GPU fans are always spinning. The card has a switch for “P” and “Q” modes—Q seems quieter, P for performance. You’re using P, right? That’s likely what you mean by OC mode. Are AIO fans automatically increasing speed as well?

P is the OC mode setting. Fans typically don't switch to the default 0db and halt spinning. By default, case fans linked to the motherboard follow a unique fan curve managed by various sensors. Some boards increase case fan speeds alongside the CPU fan, others don't, and some adjust specific fans at different rates. You can use manufacturer tools to configure custom fan speeds in Windows. It's wise to observe fan behavior firsthand. Many fans cease spinning when speed is set below 50%. You might also choose a fixed speed for all fans to maintain steady noise levels, but verify temperatures to ensure they remain safe.

So aside from the volume it seems fine then? Nice you mentioned fans being linked to mothebored. There’s a method I don’t need to link them to the pmw on mb? My Corsair aio comes with the commander pro rgb/fan controller, I use that for the aio fans. My Corsair 5000x case includes an rgb controller and a fan controller, but it has two units instead of one like the commander pro. The fan controller is connected to my mb probably at the 5th fan header because it’s simpler to reach. I’ve got my front three fans and one rear fan plugged into that. Since it’s on my mb I can only control them via the bios, too. Also, all spin but rgb on the rear doesn’t activate. The case came with sp120 fans, so I bought a set of three matching fans to match, which matches what the rear one is. I’m not sure why the rgb on the rear isn’t working.
