I've tested Doom Eternal with maximum settings and ray tracing, and there were no lag spikes. I'd probably attribute this to software or CPU limitations rather than GPU usage. It's frustrating when programs report high GPU utilization but the CPU isn't fully engaged during gameplay or lag moments. I guess I'll accept it as a bit of paranoia, lol.

After trying it out in cyberpunk and doom eternal, things seem manageable. Using ray-tracing at medium settings in cyberpunk usually causes only minor FPS drops (around 50s, sometimes 40s), while doom eternal performs well even at full settings. Thanks for your help! Your question about GPU usage is interesting—usually the GPU stays low while the CPU runs at high load during lag spikes. It might not always be the opposite, or it could be related to how programs are displayed or other factors. I checked Task Manager and HWinfo; they show GPU at full use but CPU only at 70-80%. If you have more details, I’d love to hear! Cheers.

Basically the CPU will only run at 100% when it needs to. Unless you have integrated graphics on your cpu it could be quite common for it not to run at full speed. Its a good thing in someways as it will stay cooler.
