New secondary Windows added, but primary windows aren't starting anymore.
I set up a separate Windows 10 installation on my old SSD for a fresh start with software that was causing issues on the main drive. My primary SSD is a Samsung 970 Pro 2TB NVMe, while the secondary is a Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SATA. During setup I didn’t remove the NVMe drive, which seems to have caused some Windows components for the secondary installation to overwrite data from the main drive. In the UEFI I can only pick my NVMe as the bootable device, even though when I power on it the SATA drive is listed as the system drive. Here’s a screenshot of the disk management view after booting this way. The primary drive (D) remains my main installation. When attempting to boot without the SATA drive connected, Windows fails and displays an error stating the required device isn’t connected (Error code 0xc000000e), which aligns with it now searching for Windows on the SATA SSD. I haven’t tried disconnecting the NVMe yet, but since it doesn’t appear bootable in UEFI, it’s unclear how that would work. I’ve used repair tools from a Windows USB and some command-line commands like bootrec, but they didn’t fully resolve the problem. Anyone have suggestions? I’m not concerned about the secondary installation, but restoring the main one would be a huge help. Thanks ahead!
