These GPUs are top-notch and offer great value for the price. If you were going to buy one, just include the 3700X and save the money—don’t bother upgrading unless you play heavily at 4K. The 2070 Super can handle 4K well, and higher-end models can support more demanding settings.
I intend to use 1080p at 60Hz, then move to higher resolutions like 3700x or 2070p. The challenge is figuring out if it’s possible to get both within budget—it feels like choosing between two options.
Choose the 3600 setup first—it offers more performance than a higher-end CPU. The additional 2c/4t is useful for handling multiple tasks. Do you already have a parts list? If so, we might find ways to reduce costs elsewhere to accommodate both the 3700X and 2070 S.
I'm also weighing the theme options. I really want to stick with a white look, and it's doable within budget. However, I'm finding myself spending more for less. Going black with a white case could save some cash for upgrading my GPU.
