As mentioned in the title, I purchased a brand new RX 600 to swap out my old GTX 1660. It doesn’t significantly improve performance—sometimes even slightly worse—in certain tasks (about a 15% drop compared to online benchmarks and YouTube videos). It’s currently running with an i5 9400F, though I doubt a PCIe bottleneck is the main issue. The remaining problem seems to be the single 8GB of single-channel RAM stick. Could adding more RAM help? Or should I consider upgrading the whole system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You own a 6-core i5 known to lag in games, paired with limited RAM and a GPU that boosts performance only slightly. This setup limits you from achieving your maximum gaming experience despite having the hardware.

Clearly, 8GB is the bare minimum needed for games, and using a single stick limits performance to just one channel, which is quite poor.
