New release, artifacts available only in bios
I recently assembled my new PC and installed Windows 11 Pro. When trying to access BIOS I notice no options appear due to a corrupted artifact. If I skip the delete key and switch to Windows, there’s essentially nothing visible. I’ve already updated my BIOS, chipset, and graphics drivers, and even tested another display port on my graphics card. My current BIOS version is 7D91v14. The system configuration is: CPU – Intel Core i5 12600K, GPU – MSI 3060 Ti Ventus 3x OC LHR, Motherboard – MSI Mag Z790 with DDR4, RAM – Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 GB at 3200 MHz, Storage – Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD, Cooler – Noctua NH-U12a, Power Supply – Corsair RMA850X. Thanks for your time!
Connect your monitor straight to the motherboard. The 12600k should support an IGPU. (Not verified yet) You should be able to view your BIOS settings. You might also perform a CMOS reset before trying again.
She does this specific thing with that exact monitor line. It involves using DP to bypass issues. We usually connect via HDMI into the graphics card to reach her BIOS. I know it's a bit risky, but it often works. After finishing in the BIOS, just reattach the DP cable at @Skyesgaming
I attempted to connect a monitor using my built-in graphics card, but it didn't appear. Even resetting the CMOS didn't fix the problem. Appreciate your assistance!
Hi, it looks like you successfully connected using HDMI initially, but switching to DisplayPort repeated the same issue. It seems there might be a temporary compatibility glitch rather than a permanent problem. You’re not necessarily damaged—just a brief hiccup with hardware settings. Keep checking other ports or consult the manufacturer for updates. Thanks for your patience!
This matches exactly what you described in the bios section. It appears to be formatted like a biography, and the issue occurs whenever I connect the display port cable. Thanks for pointing it out!
OP mentioned trying a different cable. We're not certain why it happens, but the HDMI on the card works fine as a temporary fix. Interestingly, my older (PG) Asus screen and an older 2070 super GPU don’t experience this problem no matter what ports or cables are used.
I might consider a different cable, just to check if anyone else has one I can try, thanks.
