It's secure to proceed with the update. No issues have been reported. The BIOS version you mentioned has changed significantly since your last update, so it's wise to confirm compatibility before switching to 5800x3d.

It's secure. You also have a BIOS flashback feature, allowing you to revert to an earlier BIOS if needed. This process works even without a CPU.

Thank you, but for this I need an additional backup drive with the earlier BIOS version. Or perhaps the previous BIOS file is stored in the same location as the latest one I downloaded.

To install older BIOS versions, you need that file on a brand-new USB drive. If you own a laptop, you can use it to obtain various BIOS updates when necessary. This update process has a minimal risk of failure with ASUS BIOS changes. Simply transfer the latest BIOS onto a clean USB stick or flash drive, then follow the provided instructions in the video. Power off your PC, keep the power supply active, insert the USB into the labeled BIOS slot, press the designated button for three seconds, and wait until the lights stop flashing—this indicates completion. The process usually takes 5 to 10 minutes. On my ASUS system it works effortlessly.

The gaming performance will be significantly better than 3600 with a good GPU. Back then, updating the BIOS was quite intimidating! Now, thanks to ASUS and other partners' easy flashback features, you can install a BIOS without a CPU yet, and if it doesn’t work, you can try again. It won’t damage your board like it did 10 years ago. What CPU cooler are you using?

It's good to hear you got the thermal paste. You might need to handle an undervolt situation, adjust the offset, fix the clock, or control power usage. Checking YouTube videos helped you notice the 5800x3D gets quite hot.

I tried the NT-H2 on my 7700x and still have some NT-H1 tubes left. For gaming only, a temperature below 85°C seems fine—don’t stress too much. Just boost the pump speed if you want more liquid flow.
