Hey, I see you're having some trouble with your RAM setup. Your system runs Windows 11 on a Ryzen 5 3600 processor with an 2060 motherboard and a 650W power supply. You've experimented with several RAM configurations over the years, trying different speeds and timings. The original 2x8GB pair has performed well without any issues, so you're not starting from scratch.

You've upgraded to 2x16GB options in two attempts, but each time you faced similar problems. The BIOS tried to run at 3600MHz, but it kept dropping to black screens when running demanding tasks. You've tried tweaking settings like XMP profiles, manual BIOS adjustments, and even swapping RAM pairs, but nothing seems to stabilize the performance.

Some sources suggest that your motherboard and chipset might not support certain RAM models, which could be a factor. You've also considered switching to TridentZ DDR4 as an alternative. Despite your efforts, the system still struggles to maintain the advertised speed.

If you're open to it, I’d recommend checking compatibility charts again or reaching out to the manufacturer for confirmation. Alternatively, you might want to consider using a different RAM model that’s officially supported by your hardware. Let me know what you think, and I’m here to help further!

Which motherboard you're using? Running RAM at its standard speeds could cause issues. Make sure the sticker on each RAM module lists the correct speeds and timings. If you're unsure, provide the exact model numbers from both the RAM and motherboard.

If it's an MSI board, the newest BIOS might not work with your CPU. Please share complete details about your PC so we can proceed correctly. I know this is confusing, but it really helps. Don’t worry about misunderstanding—this is just clarification.

Sorry about that. I felt I was oversharing in my original post so I guess I ended up leaving out alot of important info by trying to reduce the length of the post. Here's a more full picture of my PC specs. If I'm still forgetting anything, let me know. Mobo: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Wifi (MS-7B93) Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Ram (current): G. Skill TridentZ Neo 2 X16gb - F4-3600C16D32GTZNC (CL16-19-19-39 1.35V) Video Card: MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Hard Drive: (boot drive) Wester Digital Black SN750 NVME SSD 1TB - WDS500G3XHC Power Supply: Corsair RM650x RPS0108 Processor Fan: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 RGB Black - RR-212S-20PC-R1 Case: Fractal Design Define R6 usb-c Tempered Glass I've had the PC running the last couple days at the BIOS stock DRAM frequency of 2133 mhz and it seems to run fine. This is what I've noticed before with the other model of ram I tried (listed in original post). I'd still like to try to run the ram closer to its advertised speed though if possible. Thanks !

Occasionally certain AM4 boards struggle with 3600 MHz RAM, even when using dual-channel only. I had to adjust the timings for it to function, but chose to stick with the default settings just to verify stability.

To determine your chip, start by checking reliable sources like manufacturer websites or forums. If you need help interpreting the data, consider using tools such as CPU-Z to identify the DRAM maker (SK Hynix) and then cross-reference with other guides. Avoid untested software until you're confident.
