Hello. I've already posted about this problem, but I'm still unsure how to proceed, so I'm seeking advice.
I managed to save two fully functional ThinkCentre M710t computers from the waste bin.
Interestingly, I discovered they performed better than my PC, so I removed one of the motherboards and placed it inside a large case. I reassembled everything using both the IB250MH motherboards.
I connected the front panel to the new case's switch and reset connector, then turned on the PC. The fan started working, the computer booted up, and the power and reset buttons on the case functioned correctly.
Since the IB250MH is connected to the PSU via a 10-pin connector, I purchased a standard ATX 24-pin PSU to upgrade it. This is essential for my 4GB graphics card, which I haven't installed yet.
I searched various websites for the adapter, but all looked identical. I tested its wiring with a multimeter to ensure there was no electrical interruption.
Then I installed one of my older, working PSUs and tested the other (400W vs 600W).
Now I'm uncertain because after several weeks, the PC still doesn't boot with either PSU. However, when I switched back to the original PSU, everything worked again.
If I swap in either of the new PSUs, both function properly. It seems unlikely a component like RAM or the hard drive is faulty, as they worked with the old PSU.
I didn't make any changes between the two tests (consistent conditions) and tested both IB250MH motherboards.
I'm not a technician, but I think the power supply might not be delivering electricity to the motherboard.
😵
I really don't understand what's happening... I thought someone had already used the adapter mentioned above, and it worked... Buying new parts isn't an option, anyone can help?

If i connect the 400w / 600w psu to a different mobo, they both function properly. What models are these PSUs? Are you referring specifically to the 400W and 600W units? How recent are both of these devices? The motherboard used in the Frankenstein prebuilt is proprietary. Could you mention the adapter you are referring to?

I need a more robust PSU for my 4gb graphics card, which I haven't installed yet. Could you share the GPU model?

I think the power supply might not reach the motherboard, but I'm not sure.
If I were you, I would replace the original PSU with a new one and keep the form factor unchanged.

The second model is newer, yet both have been thoroughly tested and functioned on another computer. It powered an i7 processor, 4 SSD + 2mech HD, the 4GB graphics card, and other peripherals smoothly.
If my assessment is right, I can't include an image from my PC in this post, so I’m only able to share the adapter from a website where it’s sold:
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B06WV9Z9QT...ar...8702095-20&geniuslink=true
In any case, it’s the same except for the source. The motherboard connector is proprietary, with 10 pins.
The GPU is an AMD Radeon 550 4GB, requiring a minimum 500W PSU. No, it won’t work with less power—my previous PSU burned out on another motherboard.
For the m710t, there aren’t many PSUs matching the original’s specifications and power output. I’ve looked for some time already, only finding 400/450W options in a Chinese online store.
Thank you very much

These aren't exactly the kind of reliable PSUs we usually recommend.
The GPU is an AMD Radeon 550 with 4GB of memory, it requires a minimum of 500W power supply, and no, it won<|pad|> (or doesn't work) with less. I've already burned another PSU on a different motherboard.

You should be able to run off a 450W built PSU. It could be a PSU problem, or there might be a short in your setup.
Anyway it's the same except for the source, and yes, the connector on the motherboard is proprietary, using 10 pins.
Looks similar to this one;

Would you like me to check for any signs of burnt or damaged components on the motherboard?

But they function well on the other motherboard (which, by the way, is still Lenovo and uses a different adapter with 14x24 pins).
My graphics card is a bit different from the one you linked—it's larger with two fans and Powercolor (I forgot to mention).
I saw somewhere that 500 watts are needed for it, and since I already bought a PSU with less power for an HP PC, I can't afford to spend more money on another PSU that might fail.
The two motherboards are currently outside the case, so yes, I checked them for any burns or unusual parts, but everything seems normal. I also always wear gloves.
Thanks a lot

I added a second psu to power the video card, dvdrom and 2 hd. It functions properly. However, when I also installed a disk nvme in another pcie slot, the boot process fails right after the Lenovo logo... 🤔
I tested two different disks, and the adapter works on another computer... Any suggestions?
