Hey there... I noticed a few programs vanished from my hard drive recently. I didn’t give it much thought and just reinstalled them. Yesterday I reinstalled Android Studio because it had been removed. This morning I turned on my PC and saw the Ethernet Network driver missing, plus the EVGA LED SYNC seems gone too. What might have caused this? It’s definitely strange. Take care, Mak.

Right now I'm using Avast, though it's turned off.

Virus protection software? Haha, right? Just make sure those drives are in good shape. I suggest trying Hard Disk Sentinel.

No, Windows does not automatically uninstall a program upon detecting a bad block. It typically reports the issue and may prompt the user to repair or reinstall the file.

Nothing will happen unless you captured a snapshot and configured it to load at startup, like Voodooshield.

When AV is installed, it functions properly even if turned off. All its features operate correctly and only the real-time protection is turned off (though files are still handled via the AV engine). This could mean it's AV rather than a genuine protection feature, or another AV function. I've never encountered a harmless AV program. It generally performs worse than a virus.

You just removed Avast, and it appears to be working now.
