New processor, computer fails to start.

I've added a new CPU (Ryzen 7 5800X) to my B450 Aorus M, but the PC won't start. The CPU status light flashes once when powering on, while the DRAM status stays red. I tried removing and reinserting the battery, swapped RAM slots (two 16GB sticks), used old working RAM, and even checked the PSU and fans, but nothing changed. The screen isn't showing anything. What should I do next?

B450 panels aren't compatible with Ryzen 5000 series right away. You might need to install a BIOS update first. If no update exists, you'll likely require a different board.

According to their website, you should replace your current CPU with a Ryzen 5 3600X, update the BIOS, and then install the new one.

Yes, that should be fine. You'll need at least BIOS version F60 to run a Ryzen 5000 CPU on your board. This release was announced on March 5th, so it's possible you haven't updated the BIOS yet.

The issue was fixed by updating the BIOS. I also have a follow-up question about the ideal temperatures for my Ryzen 7 5800X with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black cooler.

Under 95C should work. The Hyper 212 isn't a premium model, just a budget-friendly option.

The 212 works well with a stock 5800x. Using PBO could be acceptable. Don’t go overclocking. After reaching 85°C on Zen3, performance will gradually slow down, with heavy throttle activating around 95°C.
