New PC stopped functioning following a crash, with the VGA indicator lit on the motherboard.
Hey everyone! I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my new PC. I got it today and everything seemed normal after setup—booted in, installed Windows, downloaded drivers, updated the update. Suddenly I hit a BSOD and the machine froze. It only ran for about 20 minutes before it crashed completely. Now it won’t start or respond at all, the monitor doesn’t work, and even the keyboard/mouse lights aren’t functioning. The fans are spinning but nothing else seems to be connected. Inside the case everything looks fine, and I checked cables, connections, and BIOS settings. I’ve tried different RAM amounts, slots, a new GPU card, and even removed the motherboard battery to clear CMOS. Still no luck. The BIOS was flashed recently, and XMP RAM was enabled. Why did it work briefly before the crash? Thanks for any help!
Is the location nearby? It seems like you should just return it to the place it came from. This model shouldn’t face problems right away. As a regular user, you’re expected to handle some basic fixes. With an F SKU CPU, board graphics aren’t supported. I’d suggest putting everything back as it was and sending it back for a replacement. Unless you’re willing to spend six hours trying various fixes that might not work. Besides, try connecting the GPU to another machine to test the 4090—since you already tested it on your current setup without success. Also, wait a few minutes after resetting the CMOS; it might take a while.
