Hey team, I just got a new PC and want to install Windows there. On my old setup, I used Windows 10 Education on a 120GB SSD. Now I’m planning to add the SSD to a different M.2 slot, keeping the OS on the new drive instead of the old one. If I put the SATA SSD with the OS inside, it should still work. Can I switch Windows to the same product key on another drive?

Windows ignores storage devices. It focuses on the motherboard. If your license is tied to your Windows account, you can move it between gadgets.

Just like you do on other versions, log into your MS account and link the device. I haven’t done this before because my license is an older Win7 version and it was connected during free upgrade. The laptop I have uses a different MS account that was linked when I first started using it.
