In 2017 I assembled a high-end gaming PC. The machine originally came with a 1080 Ti 11 GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 1st Gen 1700 processor, and a PSU from EVGA SuperNOVA 750. After six years of use, I decided Cyber Monday was ideal for upgrading the motherboard, CPU, and water cooler. When everything was reassembled, the GPU lights would flicker until the system would shut down and restart. Remembering the PC wouldn’t boot into BIOS during this process, I disconnected the GPU and then the RGB water cooler. The motherboard’s RGB lit up for the first time. This made me suspect the PSU was the problem, even though a 750 W unit should have sufficient power. Should I replace the old PSU or is there another reason?

This article made me wonder if it's related to their C tier 6-year-old PSU.
Maybe it would have functioned properly right before the change, so technically it should have allowed the new setup to install and start. I’d go ahead and replace it just in case, mainly because it’s getting old. At least it should operate at all. This is why I’m curious about the components OP installed to eliminate other possibilities first.
