AMD chipset drivers sometimes behave oddly. People often suggest using the version from the motherboard maker’s site, but most prefer the worldwide driver available on AMD’s official page for the AM5 chipset.

Got it, the AM5 chipset from AMD seems to be working better now. It appears to have helped smooth things out, making games run more fluidly and my refresh rate stay at 120. Probably just a minor issue with the DP cable, which is aging a bit. Still, I’m relieved my new GPU isn’t faulty and won’t need to deal with returns or repairs.

Checking if swapping the DP cable orientation affects the refresh rate problem. Also confirming the monitor’s OSD supports 144Hz, as enabling 'overclocked' mode is required for specific rates.

It’s a long cable, so it must be inserted one direction only. I located an overdrive option in my monitor’s OSD, but it didn’t appear to work.

Unexpected chipset drivers led to some artifacts; I’ll remember that. Usually I download drivers straight from AMD using their universal installer, but this one surprised me. Thanks for the tip—it really helped!

We're discussing swapping the connections at the ends, matching which plug goes into which part. Overdrive is mainly about reducing delay, but I usually leave it on because it might affect color quality.

Sure thing! Let me know if you'd like me to rephrase it further.
