Hey there, welcome! I've been around the block with computers for 25 years now. Just got a new PC built and hit a few bumps in the road. Here’s what I’m facing:

1) When moving my SSDs and HDDs from the old machine to the new one, everything seems okay. But the 4TB HDD you were using as backup isn’t showing up in Windows Explorer. It shows up in BIOS, Disk Manager, Device Manager, and EaseUS Partition Master, but it looks like unallocated space. Even the Partition Master lists all folders, so I know the data exists. I searched online, but the fixes I found didn’t work—like assigning a letter or uninstalling the device.

2) My Windows time isn’t syncing with the time server. I tried switching to a different server, but it still throws errors. I had to set the time manually. This was a problem even on my old setup and never got resolved.

3) The fans in the case don’t trigger the LED indicators from the motherboard software (MSI Mystic Light). My specs are pretty standard: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti, MSI Carbon X670e, 2x 32GB DDR5 6GB, plus a couple of drives.

I’m still trying to figure this out and don’t have another big HDD to clone since it’s nearly full. Let me know if you need help with any of these!

They link to the motherboard through standard methods. The BIOS time/date might not be precise. It was transferred from an older computer model. Connection to the PC involves power and USB or SATA interfaces. For USB, I’ve tested various hubs—front, rear, USB 2, USB 3. If using SATA, I switched cables to see if performance improved.

It seems you're facing a situation where data recovery is difficult. You might want to consider purchasing an additional storage drive to restore the information. Edit: you could attempt connecting the HDD to another computer to verify. Updated: November 6, 2023 by leclod

The fans are linked to a central hub inside the case, which connects to the motherboard via an ARGB port. The BIOS time was significantly incorrect during installation, but I fixed it myself. Regarding the HDD, it functioned like any other desktop with Windows 10 installed, using a SATA connection. I haven’t switched cables yet since this was the same one used on another PC; I’ll test it now.

I'll attempt to link it to my previous computer, but I haven't had time for it yet.

Updates on the HDD: things became more complicated. I swapped the cable, used another SATA slot, but the outcome stayed the same. The drive isn’t reachable in Windows Explorer, yet it appears in Disk Manager, BIOS, etc., just as before. After reconnecting it to the old PC, everything works properly. It seems to be an issue with the new system—could it be related to Windows 11 or the motherboard?

Windows 10 and 11 differ in some features but share many functionalities. MBR support on boot drives is handled differently between the two versions. Encryption methods like BitLocker affect behavior similarly across both OSes.

I recorded every key information and structured it within the existing framework.
