Hey everyone
Black Friday is approaching again, and it’s time to assemble a fresh gaming PC. My existing setup dates back to late 2020. After reviewing benchmarks, reviews, and tests, I’ve decided on this configuration. I also intend to incorporate some parts from my previous build. What do you think? Does this work? Are the reused components still current and should they be updated? Do you think there’s room for improvement?

Here are some details about my needs:
Current build: RTX 3080, Ryzen 9 5900X, G.Skill Trident Z Neo (2x 16GB), ASUS ROG Strix X570-E
Budget: around CHF 2'500 - 3'000 (USD 3'100 - 3'700)
Usage: Gaming
Monitor: Aorus FI32U
Resolution: 4K
OS: Win11
Overclocking: not planned (too lazy for this kind of work)
🤣

Location: Switzerland
Multiple GPUs: no
Additional notes: USB 4 would be nice

Components I’m leaning toward so far:
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5080 GAMING OC 16G
CPU: Ryzen 9 9800x3d
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo (2x 16GB)
MB: ASRock X870E Taichi or MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro (4TB)

From my current build, I plan to reuse these parts:
Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73
PSU: Corsair RM850 *2019*
Case: Fractal Define 7
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro

Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions – really appreciate it!

I need a high-performance gaming PC that remains affordable, without requiring overclocking. It should have a USB 4 port and run Windows 11. Users are encouraged to format their threads with details about the questions they have.

Everything functions well together. Asrock boards haven't fared very well with the 9800x3D, so I'd check that MSI board instead. Also think about a 1000w ATX 3.1 psu.

I would choose Gigabyte for the motherboard.
