I am constructing with 16gb of memory... not 32. 16gb suffices for my needs... If issues arise, it's a straightforward upgrade, and I've successfully used 16gb in all my setups without any problems. It's not useful to avoid the previous concerns by suggesting 32gb. As mentioned earlier, 16gb is already included with the package.

It seems unclear why someone would choose a 12th generation Intel CPU in 2024. The price in microcenter might be more appealing. I think avoiding KF/F chips and ignoring the integrated GPU would help unless it's included in a package. If building a gaming PC, I’d likely opt for an AM5 Ryzen X3D instead. Ultimately, without knowing your plans, it’s hard to add more details.

Probably an outdated BIOS (old motherboard stock) that requires an update before enabling EXPO. Sometimes fine-tuning takes time and not everything works perfectly out of the box, and this could happen with AMD or Intel. My AMD Ryzen 5 3600 experience during the first month wasn’t great—I had to install an aftermarket cooler to handle heavy tasks. After a few BIOS (microcode) updates from AMD, I was able to run the same heavy tasks with the stock cooler without any performance drops and without overheating issues. I’m still working on a secondary PC today.

In any case, a 12th generation core i5 is a decent CPU performer, not matching a 5800 X3d or higher, but it’s still okay. And yes, the Intel motherboard in your first post looks much more high-end than the one included in the AMD setup.

Yes, you may need to flash the BIOS to ensure compatibility with your board.

It seems to be a more proactive approach. You might not need to flash the BIOS, but it's important to have the most recent version installed.

Thanks! If things get worse, I’ll know it’s time to use M-Flash and I should be able to do it even if I’ve already set everything up.

Well, it's important to understand with AM5 that the initial boot might take a while—several minutes at most. If after about ten minutes it still doesn't happen, updating the BIOS might be necessary.
Yes, you can apply the M-flash on an assembled system.
Alternatively, Microcenter could handle it before you leave; they charge $30, but perhaps they'd offer this as part of a bundle. After all, they should confirm it works out of the box before selling.

Thanks in advance for the assistance. I'm planning to build this over the weekend. My main worry is that if Bios isn't up-to-date, I might not see any signs of life. Appreciate the clarification!

It looks like a solid build, though you've switched the GPU now. Remember the RTX 4070 TI from your first post offers better native performance, especially with RT enabled. The X3D chip and AM5 platform will also keep you going longer, making future CPU and GPU updates easier. The decision is yours: a 12th gen Core i5 with a strong GPU or a powerful gaming CPU 7800X3D paired with a decent GPU. No matter what you choose, I hope you enjoy it and have fun!

This construction looks solid. The main idea is to explore additional examples at the store to refine your preferences visually. Don't assume the chosen option is flawed.
