He should receive a replacement. Since the board is damaged, they sent it to him without any attempt to repair it. A new one needs to be provided.

I have a fresh board now, and it's getting much closer. It boots with a display! However, when trying to get the screen working, I'm only seeing my three hard drives but not a boot device. Is this normal? My drives are a bit outdated. The Samsung drive was the one I used on my old PC, hoping to just connect it to the new computer and start using it immediately.

Update the fresh Windows installation manually. Move any crucial data from the drive to another location before performing a new setup.

Are there alternatives to a fresh installation? I don't even have a CD-ROM on the computer or space to install one. Also, I don't want to deal with reinstalling and reconfiguring everything.
