New PC build: fans are working yet the screen remains off.
I am assembling a new PC using mainly the hardware suggestions from 2024. When I turn it on, the fans are active but there is no display output. Since I don’t have an internal speaker, I’m not sure if any beeps would provide further information. I’m wondering if purchasing and connecting this motherboard to the motherboard could assist in troubleshooting?
I have taken out everything except the motherboard, processor, RAM, and power supply. All components are reinstalled and connected properly. I have tested each RAM slot individually with separate RAM modules. I am attempting to utilize the internal display port for output. Previously, the graphics card was connected but still didn’t appear on the screen (either via display port or HDMI). I haven’t yet connected any external drives.
What?!? It has the plugs on the mobo, I thought they would work. I just wanted to put the GeForce GPU back in, trying to find another possible cause for the problem.
I've tested various monitors too. I still have an old Dell one, and I was planning to try it with a newer ViewEdge screen.
It is connected. I observed something unusual while checking if the fans activated... The GPU fans start up at startup but cease to spin after a couple of seconds. This might be typical since the GPU isn't overheating yet, or it could indicate an issue with my display setup.
When you say the GPU is plugged in, do you mean it is correctly installed into the motherboard slot and you have the necessary power cables connected, with the other ends of those cables plugged into your PSU?
