New PC build CPU light issue – troubleshooting tips
Hello, yesterday I assembled the following PC – MSI PRO Z790 A WIFI DDR5 - 14700KF, ASUS RTX 3060 Ti, Gskill Trident Z5 RGB 2x16GB 6400MT CL32, EK Nucleus 360 RGB AIO, Samsung 990 Pro, Corsair MP510 (reused), SATA SSD (reused), 2x HDD (reused), Corsair RM850X PSU, NZXT H440 (reused). After putting everything together, I removed the pre-applied thermal paste and applied a thermal grizzly. When I power it on, everything lights up but it doesn’t boot, and the CPU red light stays on. I’ve tried several fixes: updating BIOS via Flash BIOS button with two USB sticks, re-seating the CPU (some non-conductive paste was present), swapping RAM sticks and using only one in the A2 slot, unplugging all three SATA drives, and confirming all power cables were securely connected. Still unsure what’s wrong! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The screen updates appeared to function properly? Consider purchasing a different CPU next time. You might want to avoid entering BIOS again. Edited November 26, 2023 by leclod
The screen updates rapidly, isn't it? I haven't even started the BIOS yet.
