New model malfunctions in Fortnite
I don't think the PSU is the problem. I've tried other games before, set up multiple camera streams at 1080p60fps, and rendered everything smoothly. The temperatures were also very low. It seems like a registry issue might be the cause. I haven't had time to research further or look into editing the registry or Event Viewer details, and I'm not very comfortable with those tasks.
I recently built a new pc (5 3600 + MSI B450-A Pro Max + Corsair 3200 Vengeance, the latter supposedly tweaked for AMD) but nothing wanted to play nicely. It was slow, crashed frequently etc.. I started off with stock settings for the memory to run at 3200 and it ran but the mouse would stutter, Google Chrome would freeze and the start menu disappeared. A-XMP made things worse and I have since read that Corsair suggest waiting for the motherboard manufacturer to catch up with a new BIOS.
In the meantime, using the slower base (jedec?) memory settings restored stability but what finally made the pc come alive was the 'Try it out' DRAM feature in the BIOS. I went down the list off possible timing combinations close to those suggested by Corsair so that it would run at 3200. Problem solved even though the timings were completely different. It may be worth exploring this as a potential solution.
