I have a GA-97X-SLI board that only works with PCIe x2. I recently swapped in an EVO 970 Plus SSD, but performance is still poor. I’m not a heavy gamer, just need a reliable 1150 socket for better speeds. Mostly use the machine for work or server tasks, but enjoy games or flight sims now and then. Would love suggestions for updated boards. Thanks in advance for all the help—this community is awesome!

Your system runs smoothly at 3.20 GHz with the i5-4460 processor. Appreciate the feedback!

I’d offer CPU, motherboard, and RAM together around $300, adjusting based on demand. The cheapest option starts at $200. For the build, you’d need a budget B450 and a 3100 chipset, paired with an DDR4 3600mhz CL16 kit.
