Hey there.
I’m planning to purchase a new motherboard for my system, aiming to significantly boost its performance through overclocking. Before making the final decision, I want to gather more information.

First, I’ve decided to buy the Gigabyte GA 970a UD3P. I found it at two stores in Brazil, and while the packaging suggests different versions, the specifications look identical to me. I was concerned it might be a different revision, but I haven’t noticed any differences yet.

Second, I’m wondering if I’ll need to upgrade my power supply unit as well to achieve a noticeable overclock. I think my current setup should handle it, especially since my CPU cooler isn’t the standard AMD model and keeps temperatures low even under heavy use. My system includes:
- Galaxy GTX 970 OC edition
- 10GB RAM Corsair Vengeance 1600 (8GB + 2GB)
- AMD FX8370E
- 1.5TB HDD via SATA (RPM and brand not remembered)
- Corsair CX500 PSU

Should I consider upgrading the PSU then?
Thanks ahead of time!
