Hey everyone! I just got an HP Omen laptop and hit a few snags deleting Steam files from C: because I don’t have admin privileges even though I’m the sole user. Windows says I’m supposed to be an admin, but it won’t let me modify or delete files on my SSD. Any suggestions? P.S. This is my first post—hope I didn’t mess anything up.

No, I don't know if you copied files from another system or reinstalled Steam to download the game again.

I just put in Steam and Rising Storm 2 on my new system. After applying the newest Windows update, problems began. At first, I couldn’t launch RS2 because Steam reported missing rights to certain game files. I attempted to reset everything by uninstalling Steam completely and deleting all its leftover files, but it didn’t work. Now the game is running, yet I still lack admin privileges even though Windows says I should be logged in as administrator. It’s really puzzling.

I also reinstalled the earlier Windows version in the progress, but it didn’t resolve the issue.

Steam is bothersome regarding this process. I’m not sure how they manage it, but you need to remove each file separately. You can only delete a folder if it’s completely empty. Ownership isn’t important in this case.
