New laptop keeps crashing and restarting repeatedly
Hey everyone, I just got my new build together a few days back. Here are the details: Intel i9-12900k with Asus ROG Strix z690 gaming specs, Wi-Fi G Skill Trident Z5 series (2x16GB 6600Mhz), XMP profile set, and an XMP I enabled. The system uses a Samsung 980 Pro NVMe drive for the C drive and two Samsung 980 Pro NVMe drives for A and B. It’s powered by an EVGA RTX 3090 Ti with a 1300W PSU. No overclocking beyond the XMP I setting. Windows 11 is installed, but I notice it randomly freezes, triggering a BSOD that restarts the machine. This has happened twice since I got home from work about two hours ago. The recurring issue seems linked to a DPC Dogwatch violation—possibly related to memory. I’m not sure what to do next or if there’s anything specific I should check.
Review typical RAM speeds; high XMP memory often leads to problems, especially above 6000 MHz on 12th gen chips. Try limiting it to around that range or lower to test stability. Curious about why you opted for the most costly components—what specific goal are you aiming for with those 3 Gen 4 NVME drives?
