You're getting your Lenovo Y40-80 with Windows 8.1, that’s great! For essential software, an antivirus is a must—look into reputable options like Bitdefender or Norton. For productivity, consider Microsoft Office or LibreOffice. Other useful programs include Firefox for browsing, Chrome for speed, and a good web browser extension for security. Always keep your system updated and use reliable security tools.

I suggest using the tools you prefer and Avast works well for antivirus. For browsing, I recommend Chrome, Gimp, Steam, Origin, etc. It really depends on your needs.

Absolutely, that’s totally understandable. Since you’re upgrading to a better machine, you can definitely explore more gaming options beyond Steam. Besides games, many gamers install other platforms too—like using Firefox for browsing or League of Legends for play. You might want to check out:

- **Discord** for community chat and updates
- **Reddit communities** (e.g., r/gaming) for recommendations
- **YouTube channels** that review games and setups
- **Browser extensions** like Brave or uBlock for a smoother experience

Let me know if you want suggestions tailored to your current setup!

For the OC GPU setup, even though you're using a laptop, you can install a monitoring overlay. It will display FPS, CPU usage, GPU percentage, temperature, and more. This helps you keep an eye on your system's performance.
