New keyboard time.
New keyboard time.
I recall those displays. Before the Corsair K70 RGB, I had one that changed the screen into a spot where you could place your mobile and use an app to manage all the settings. I didn’t bother with it.
It seems the problem was probably related to a particular model. I wouldn't throw out Corsair just because of one faulty unit.
For example, you've probably had a bad pizza before—doesn't that mean all pizzas are bad, right?
Regarding Corsair KBs:
I'm using Strafe RGB with Cherry MX Silent switches (sadly this is now EOL). Still, it's functioning well after 7 years (bought in Q2 2017).
It even survived a spill for a while. However, the "G" key in the middle of KB stopped working (I reprogrammed it).
Over time, some LEDs under certain keys began to fail. For instance, the red LED under F2 and right Shift, and the C key displayed orange instead of yellow. That's just minor.
My wife uses Strafe RGB MK.II with Cherry MX Silent switches (also EOL). Her KB is 5 years old (bought Q3 2019), and I haven't noticed any complaints.
Since my Strafe RGB had the G key issue, I replaced it with Corsair K100 RGB using Corsair OPX switches, but I haven't updated my Strafe RGB yet.
😆
I prefer my Strafe RGB, and I can live with its minor flaws (after all, it was my first mechanical KB).
But when it comes to Corsair mice, they do have model-related issues.
Sabre RGB wired – after about a year, the left button double-clicks when you press the left mouse button. (This happened with 3 mice we both used.)
Nightsword RGB wired – after roughly a year of heavy use, the middle button (under the scroll wheel) stopped registering. (This occurred with 2 mice.)
Dark Core RGB Pro wireless – no problems so far.
I recommended the K70 RGB Pro because it has received good reviews and, over time, is considered one of the top models from Corsair. The K95 RGB also has positive feedback, and many people like it. The K100 RGB is the newest from Corsair, but because of its high price (I paid €316.50), it's hard to suggest otherwise.
Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
I decided to stick with what I understand is effective, hoping it will last another 12 years like the previous one.
It also includes the 5G keys.
