Hi,
My Logitech G513 is nearing the end of its life, and I’m struggling to choose a new keyboard. I really enjoy the clicky feel of Blue and similar switches, but I know they’re not ideal for gaming. My gaming usage is about 50% MMOs (especially WoW), 25% single player RPGs, 20% FPS games, and 5% strategy or RTS. I also type a lot on chats and use my keyboard for work.

I’ve seen a Corsair K100 in a shop display, but it felt bad—switches were too smooth and buttons too loose. Since it was a display model, it might have been more prone to damage. My G513 has tactile switches, which I’m fine with, though not perfect.

Do you know if there are Blue switch versions with better actuation and reset points that would work well for MMO games? I was thinking about the Razer Huntsman V2 with purple switches, but I haven’t tried it yet. Or should I stick with tactile switches if I prefer them?

I own a Logitech G610 that I really enjoy. It features Cherry MX Red switches. It lacks the "clicky key switch option," but most of the time I use it for typing without any issues. Still, it remains great for gaming.

Keyboards are largely about personal taste. If you visit a BestBuy nearby, you'll usually find a variety of keyboards to test. I particularly enjoy the Yellow switch from Gateron, though they're not available in regular store models. They resemble the Red switches but offer a more solid and silky feel. For quick gaming, Silver Speed switches are ideal due to their minimal travel distance and rapid response. I'm not aware of any switches that click with a noticeably lower activation threshold than standard ones.
