New keyboard suggestion
Hi everyone!
I’m looking to purchase or create a new keyboard. Right now I use a Fnatic Streak RGB, but I’d like to upgrade to something more advanced. My existing keyboard has Silent Red switches, which I appreciate for their feel, though they’re still a bit too loud for me.
What I really need:
- Layout: ISO
- Backlighting: I’d prefer it, but RGB isn’t essential.
- Mechanical switches: I’m unsure if buying one with analog switches makes sense, so let’s discuss that.
- Size: I’d like Full or TKL models; something around 80% or bigger would be fine.
- Connectivity: I want it to work both wirelessly and wired, though wireless isn’t a must.
- Quiet operation: If possible, it should be as quiet as it can be.
What recommendations do you have? Where should I start? I’ve never built a keyboard before, but if it’s manageable, I’m open to trying it out. Thanks a lot!
We need to know the type of budget we're dealing with, your location, and where you'd like to buy. You might consider a ready-made kit along with extra switches. I'm curious about which switches to recommend because the silent red ones seem too loud to you. Also, how does this discussion compare to the one you had last month? You're using a Fnatic Streak RGB keyboard at https://fnatic.com/collections/keyboards. Which Streak are you working with from their collection? You could customize the keyboard by removing the switches and reattaching another key switch, or by greasing the Cherry MX Red Silent switches and their springs.
The budget is approximately 300 euros.
My area is Hungary.
I don’t have a specific preference for where to buy.
Right now, I’m using a Fnatic Streak RGB.
