Approximate Purchase Date: this week, assuming no problems
Budget Range: 1300 - 1500
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Use in University programming courses - experimenting with virtual machines - gaming
Are you purchasing a monitor: Yes, but it exceeds the budget because I haven’t seriously explored that area yet and prices are unclear.
Do you need to buy an OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I think
amazon, or ebay since used cases wouldn’t be a problem if kept well.
Location: Italy
Parts Preferences: none
Overclocking: No
Additional Comments:
Before making the purchase, I thought I might need assistance in spotting possible incompatibilities between components, should any of them have overlooked issues or if someone has encountered problems with them.
And most importantly, why are you building:
I require a PC for programming work and some games.
• CPU – AMD Ryzen 9 7900 3.6 GHz 12-Core
• GPU – XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
• MOBO – Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX ATX AM5
• MEMORY – Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000
• STORAGE – Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 SSD
• COOLER – Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
• PSU – Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold
• +Optical Drive
• +Case
I’m weighing my options between these four models:
• Nox Hummer zx (Black) ~74€
• In-Win GT1 (Black) ~90€
• Be Quiet Pure Base 600 ~97€
• Fractal Pop Air ~99€
I aim to choose the best fit within my budget, which has already exceeded 1300€ (excluding a good monitor). Which case would you recommend?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

If you're open to taking the chance with Alibaba, you might be able to secure memory, storage, and power supply at a lower cost than what's available now.

Hi, thanks for your response!
I think a 6 core setup won’t suffice for my needs. I plan to keep this build for several years and need to be prepared for demanding work sessions or projects.
The phantom spirit cooler is a solid choice—it’s a great alternative to the Peerless assassin and costs roughly the same.
The Corsair sticks seem to outperform the Adata ones, so I’ll stick with them for around 10€.
Regarding storage, the Lexar SSD is a bit pricier at about 150€ including shipping, but it’s still reasonable for a 2TB drive since it lacks DRAM Cache, which is handled by WD models. I’ll consider it later.
The PSU also looks interesting; I hadn’t noticed the nzxt model before. I’ll look into it further, just like with the motherboard. Since I’m new to MSI products, I’ll dive deeper into those now.

Sorry, I haven't used Alibaba before, I don't want to take risks.

These adjustments are quite minor and hard to judge clearly. I think I’ll stick with the R9 7900 rather than the x model since I prefer lower power use and less heat compared to a small performance boost.
I noticed you recommended the non-SE version of the phantom spirit, which has a cleaner design even if its performance is similar. I’ll look into it.
The motherboard is causing some trouble for me; I’m unsure whether the extra 4 power pins on the X AX or the 2.5 Ethernet connection will be necessary. It’s about 30€ cheaper, but X AX seems more stable... I’ll weigh my options.
The G.Skill ripjaws could actually be a good choice. They’re shorter and a bit cheaper than the Corsair models, which is nice. They aren’t EXPO compatible, but I don’t plan to overclock them.
The 6750x doesn’t seem to offer much according to what I’ve read—it’s also a bit longer and heavier. I’ll look into the specs; it might be worth it for just a few extra euros.
PSU-wise, the Seasonic is definitely a solid option.
Thanks for all the advice!
