Windows starting from Vista doesn't need pre-installing AHCI drivers. I think this applies similarly in RAID because the motherboard's firmware handles everything first, making the OS see a standard SATA device.

It could vary depending on the laptop model. I wasn’t sure about the AHCI drivers, but I’m certain across all my motherboards (ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE) the RAID driver or Windows installer won’t detect any RAID setups. Perhaps newer systems with Ryzen and Intel 7th/8th generation don’t require this anymore.
