So my friend just got Garry's Mod, CS:S, and HL2, and a few of my other friends wanted to set up a server for us. We considered Hamachi, but he couldn't find it. I linked him to the LogMeIn site, he downloaded it, but we're having trouble installing it properly. He can't seem to figure it out, and when he starts screen sharing, everything looks different. Can anyone confirm if Hamachi actually received an update or if someone downloaded the wrong version? Do we all need to update? Thanks in advance! -Matt

Use a VPN instead; have someone with a fast connection manage the server. I’ve tried Hamachi before but it always failed. Now I run a VPN on my NAS/game server at home, and when friends want to play older games, we connect via the VPN and then join the LAN in the games.

You can simply enable the ports on your router directly, avoiding the need for a private network app. If that's not possible, using https://www.evolvehq.com/welcome is the recommended option. It features a party system where all members are linked to the same network.
