Hello everyone,
My step son is considering a graphics card upgrade and I was seeking some suggestions or choices within the $300 to $500 range. This is currently a key component in his setup (details below). He likely needs to replace his PSU and possibly the motherboard? His reason for wanting to upgrade is the release of several new PC games, with the Monster Hunter title being one of them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Current MB: Gigabyte Gv-N166SOC-6GD GeForce GTX 1660 Super OC 6G Graphics Card, 2X Windforce Fans, 6GB 192-bit GDDR6, Video Card
Current PSU: CORSAIR CX Series 550 Watt 80+ Bronze Certified Non-Modular Power Supply
Current Graphics Card: MSI Arsenal Gaming AMD Ryzen 2ND and 3rd Gen AM4 M.2 USB 3 DDR4 DVI HDMI Crossfire ATX Motherboard (B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II)
Current CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler

It might be wise to wait a little longer.
The upcoming AMD RX 9070 could be a suitable pick (subject to cost).
At the moment, the RX 7800XT is the top recommendation for your budget.
You should also consider upgrading your power supply unit.

Agreed. Wait and observe the new cards before deciding. Consider replacing the power supply. What resolution is being used? It might make sense to think about upgrading the CPU later, though AM4 is fairly affordable to change right now.

1080P or 1440P? I understand that MC has many 3060 and 4060 cards available.
Check the game specifications for the needs.

I didn't find any available copies of this card at a fair price.
